The following calculations can be used to determine the optimium capacity of the StorageWall units relative to the floor to ceiling height and 25mm pitch of the adjustable aluminium support grid.
Shelves – Shelves can be located and adjusted on the 25mm grid to support files, catalogues or storage boxes as required.
Where A4 lever Arch files are used the shelves should be positions at 350mm centres and the storage capacity can be calculated with this formula:
- Unit 1 – 3 x Roll out filing frames. 1 x Combination shelf with pigeon holes above. 3 x Adjustable plain steel shelves.
- Unit 2 – 3 x Drawer fronted deep drawers. Clad alcove with glass shelves and down lighters.
- Unit 3 – 3 x Lateral cradles. 1 x Roll out reference shelf. 3 x Combination shelves for lateral filing pockets. 2 x Lateral Cradles.
- Unit 4 – 6 x Adjustable plain steel shelves.
- Unit 5 – 2 x Adjustable plain steel shelves. 1 x Combination shelf. 2 x Front to back coat rails.
- Unit 6 & 7 – Chiller (example only) and low level double doors with double clad alcove for media screen above.
- Unit 8 – Double door module with top box.
- Unit 9 – Personal lockers, individually locking compartments for personal storage.
- Unit 10 – 600 Deep cloaks unit. 3 x Adjustable plain steel shelves. 1 x Lateral coat rail.
- Unit 11 – 1 x Roll out filing frame (shown with dividers). 2 x Shallow drawers. 1 x Combination shelf with mini pigeon hole above. 2 x Combination shelves. 1 x Adjustable plain steel shelf.
- Unit 12 – 3 x Deep drawers. 1 x Roll out reference shelf. 1 x Slotted combination shelf. 1 x Slotted shelf. 2 x Adjustable plain steel shelves.
- Floor to ceiling height – 200mm (head and base sections) / 350mm (File)
- Example: ceiling height 2650mm – 200mm = 2450mm / 350mm = 7 No. Levels, therefore 6 No. adjustable shelves required as the base shelf is part of the unit.
- Floor to ceiling height – 200mm (head and base sections) / 300mm (files centres)
- Example: Ceiling height 2650mm – 200m = 2450mm / 300mm = 8 No. levels, therefore 8 No. combination shelves required.
- Note 1 – Where “Foolscap” filing with indexing left to right, format is required, the storage unit depth must be 500mm.
- Note 2 – Roll out filing frames should be used at the bottom of the StorageWall unit and a maximum of 4 units in height should be adopted to ensure safe operation.
